Etiquette: Introduction

To learn etiquette, is actually learning how to see others, and respect them.

“Good manners are ageless, priceless and classless”

Diana Mather

In this new era, being graceful, stylish and poise are considered outdated. Women are looked down on nowadays, due to the way they carry themselves. Some are considered desperate, unorganized, sassy and even fierce. Have you ever seen an elegant lady before? Do you notice how calm and peaceful they are? If we have more women like those in the world nowadays, don’t you think the world the world will be a better place? Moreover, the concept of elegance will be appreciated more.

Change begins with you? I keep hearing this everyday. Does change actually begin with me? You want the world better right? then start doing those things that you think can lead to more development in your community and the world as a whole. The same theory applies to elegance. If you want to see more refine women in the world, lead by example.

Believe me, if any lady should carry herself without dignity, you are never going to be respected as you deserve. If you don’t have respect for yourself then how is somebody supposed to respect you? Respect is given to those who have worked hard for it and deserve it. It can come to any woman irrespective of their backgrounds.

“never respond to rudeness. When people are rude to you, they reveal who they are, not who you are. Don’t take it personally, be silent.”

At some point in life when things get tough, you may be face with this question ” what is the essence of elegance in the life of a woman” Remember these:

  • Etiquette enables a woman to earn the respect and appreciation she deserves.
  • Etiquette inculcates a feeling of trust, worth and loyalty in a woman.
  • Etiquette makes a woman cultured.
  • It makes a woman leave her good mark wherever she goes.
  • Etiquette makes a woman leave a good impression on people she meets.
  • Etiquette teaches you, how to talk to people in an elegant woman. It teaches you how to behave in the society.

” What does it mean to be cultured? Who is the cultured person? The cultured individual is not defined nor determined by status in society nor by wealth; but the cultured individual is determined and defined by his or her sense for the art of life. And what is the art of life? The art of life is the reflection of the mind and the soul upon the world, upon other people, upon the respect and understanding of other people an upon the things that are in this world and beyond. There is a joy that is always sought in beautiful things. Being cultured is being conscious, reflective, understanding, feeling, aware. Knowing how to feel, to listen, to understand. A desire to find or create joy in many things – that is the art of life. And these things define a cultured person.”

-C.JoyBell C.

With a woman of sophistication, class and modesty and refinement. I become a totally tongue-tied buffoon. I can’t even look her straight in the eyes”

“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows and the beauty of a woman only glows with passing years.”

-Audrey Hepburn
